Core Gameplay
Demon Beats runs on a 5x4 bet ways grid with the Avalanche™ mechanic handling win resolution — symbols in winning combinations disappear, new ones drop in, and the chain continues until no further wins form. The multiplier system sits below the reels as a six-stage ladder: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x in the base game. The multiplier advances to the next stage whenever a winning spin or a Colossal symbol explosion occurs, and resets to 1x when a spin produces no wins and no Colossal or Battle symbols are present. The reset condition is specific — Colossal symbols and Battle symbols on the reels protect the multiplier from resetting even on a dead spin, making their presence strategically valuable beyond their direct win contribution.
Colossal symbols are 2x2 blocks that land randomly across the grid — not on reels carrying Bonus, Super Bonus, other Colossal, or Battle symbols. When a Colossal symbol is part of a winning combination it explodes, and crucially that explosion takes every other matching symbol anywhere on the reels with it simultaneously — not just adjacent ones. On a dead spin where no wins form, all Colossal symbols and their matching counterparts across the grid explode anyway, with only regular Wilds and the most-frequent symbols surviving. Wilds expand to cover their entire reel on landing — if a Colossal symbol is on that reel the Wild becomes a Colossal Wild. When a Wild expands over an already-expanded Wild the overlap generates a multiplier of 2x to 10x on that position.
The Battle Feature activates when a Battle symbol lands at the end of a non-winning spin with no Colossal symbols present — triggering a sequence where Colossal and Wild symbols progressively land to cover the Battle symbol entirely, with the feature ending once it's fully buried. The Battle Feature can fire during the base game, Free Spins, and Super Free Spins.
A Multiplier Upgrade activates randomly after the first spin in the base game, converting the main game multiplier ladder from the standard 1x–32x progression to the Free Spins values — 1x, 4x, 16x, 64x, 256x, 1,024x — for the remainder of the round. This is the base game's single biggest win potential shift, turning a standard session into a Free Spins-calibre multiplier environment without requiring the bonus to trigger.
Bonus Features
Three to six Bonus symbols landing trigger Free Spins, with the spin count scaling from 8 to 14 depending on how many Bonus symbols land. If at least one is a Super Bonus symbol, the round upgrades to Super Free Spins instead. Both modes use the elevated 1x–1,024x multiplier ladder — but the critical difference is that Super Free Spins multipliers never reset, regardless of dead spins, while standard Free Spins multipliers can reset to 1x on a no-win spin. Colossal, Wild, and Battle symbols can land throughout both modes. Retriggers during the feature award 3 to 6 additional spins on three to six Bonus symbols, with four or more scatters upgrading remaining spins to Super Free Spins if not already active.
Feature Access & Buy Options
The Elevate Feature system offers six tiers per spin. Bonus Hunt at 2x doubles the chance of activating either Free Spins or Super Free Spins. Bonus Hunt Extreme at 10x raises that probability sevenfold. Multiplier Upgrade at 25x guarantees the upgraded multiplier ladder activates. Battle Feature at 50x guarantees a Battle symbol on the opening spin. Free Spins at 100x guarantees the bonus triggers. Super Free Spins at 300x guarantees Super Free Spins with the non-resetting multiplier locked in. Maximum possible bet across all Elevate options is €50.
Next Steps for This Review
NetEnt's recent output has given us genuine reason to be excited about this one, and Demon Beats looks like another step forward for the studio. At launch the review will be updated with hands-on analysis of how the Multiplier Upgrade random activation timing affects session variance, how the Battle Feature's coverage sequence plays in practice, whether the Colossal symbol's full-grid matching explosion creates the kind of chain reaction moments the mechanic promises, and how the Super Free Spins non-resetting multiplier performs across a full feature run at the 256x and 1,024x levels. A final score and full gameplay analysis will follow once the game is live.

Where to Play NetEnt Games
Demon Beats hasn't launched yet — it's expected to release on October 15, 2026. These casinos already carry NetEnt's full catalogue, so you'll be able to play it here the moment it drops.

Drummer might be possessed. So now we're shredding riffs, cracking skulls and trying to find the bloody exit. Anyway. Demon Beats. Great tour so far.
NetEnt has been on a genuinely impressive run in 2026 — Spice, Judgemental, Aftermath — and Demon Beats looks like it continues that momentum with one of the more mechanically layered releases the studio has put out in years. A 5x4 bet ways slot stacking Avalanche™ cascades, 2x2 Colossal symbols that explode matching symbols across the entire grid, expanding Wild interactions with multiplier overlaps, a Battle Feature that covers the board with Colossal and Wild symbols, and a six-stage multiplier ladder that upgrades from base game to Free Spins values through a random Multiplier Upgrade. At a 10,000x max win, high volatility, and a free spin frequency of 1 in 255 — this is a slot that rewards patience and punishes nothing when it pays.
