Kitsune Studios introduces a mathematically inclined wizard in Max the Mathmagician, a 5x3 ways slot where the entire mechanic is built around Catalyst Zones — one marked position per reel that, when part of a winning combination, increases that reel's Reel Multiplier by 1x. At the end of any win, the Reel Multipliers from every reel that contributed to it are multiplied together — not added — to produce the combined multiplier applied to that win. The multiplicative combination of Reel Multipliers is the slot's key design statement: two reels each at 3x don't produce a 6x combined multiplier, they produce a 9x. Three reels each at 3x produce 27x. The equation compounds fast. At a 10,000x max win and high volatility of 4 out of 5, the Catalyst Zone system rewards persistent play as Reel Multipliers build across a session.

Core Gameplay

Max the Mathmagician runs on a 5x3 ways grid with one Catalyst Zone position marked on each of the five reels. When a winning combination forms and any of the participating reels have their Catalyst Zone position included in that win, the Reel Multiplier for that specific reel increases by 1x. The increase is reel-specific — only reels whose Catalyst Zone contributed to the win get their multiplier bumped, meaning the five reels can carry different multiplier values at any point in a session depending on how frequently each one's Catalyst Zone has landed in winning combinations.

At the end of each win, the Reel Multipliers of every reel that participated in that winning combination are multiplied together to generate the combined multiplier applied to the total win. A win spanning all five reels with Reel Multipliers of 2x, 3x, 2x, 4x, and 3x would produce a combined multiplier of 144x rather than the 14x an additive system would deliver — the multiplicative logic is the mechanic's defining mathematical characteristic and the reason the max win ceiling sits at 10,000x despite the medium-to-high volatility positioning. Whether Reel Multipliers reset between spins or accumulate across the session is not yet confirmed and will be a key detail to assess at launch.
