Rune Beasts! Deep Trenches runs on the same 7x7 cluster pays grid as its companion title, sharing the full roster of 21 elemental Beasts each carrying health points and a multiplier value. The VS symbol triggers a duel between two Beasts, with health points determining the winner — the victorious Beast forms a 3x3 cluster of its elemental rune symbol across nine positions and applies its multiplier to the resulting win. The mechanic is identical to Sharp Peaks at the structural level. The difference is in the math model underneath it: lower volatility means the VS duel fires more frequently and the win distribution is flatter, with the 5,000x ceiling reflecting a design built around accessible, regular payouts rather than extreme top-end potential. Players new to the Rune Beasts system or those preferring a steadier session rhythm will find Deep Trenches the natural entry point to the franchise.
